Dear Friends

I write to update you of the changes I have had to make to services over the Christmas Period due to us all being in Tier 4. My hope is that we can meet albeit if not in person virtually. We had a super Carols by Candlelight last night on zoom with 105 people taking part. It was very humbling experience.

The following is what will happen up to 3rd January when I hope to resume normal services.

Tuesday Communions at St. Bart’s 12 noon will not happen now until we are out of Tier 4

6.30pm Evening Services at St. Bart’s will not happen now until we are out of Tier 4

BUT Online Praise will continue 2nd & 4th Sundays.

CHRISTMAS EVE

Sadly, I have cancelled Midnight Mass at Holy Cross Hoath and St. Mary’s Reculver BUT we will have a Midnight Mass at St. Bart’s and this will be livestreamed on my Facebook Page as well.

CHRISTMAS EVE

4pm we have the zoom Nativity please contact me if you would like to take part in this so I can send the zoom link.

CHRISTMAS DAY

8am BCP Holy Communion at St. Mary’s – Rev Sue Martin

10am Christmas Holy Communion

Rev Sue & Rev Stephen at St. Bart’s this will be livestreamed on my Facebook Page.

Sunday 27th December

There will be no services in Church but Rev Sue will be livestreaming a Holy Communion Service from St. Bart’s at 10am.

Please keep safe and make your own decisions about coming to church. I do understand vulnerabilities. All of our clergy come under the vulnerable category due to age or medical conditions. We need to help each other.

If anyone finds themselves on their own due to the Tier 4 Restrictions and would like a Christmas Day Dinner delivered please let me know and I will deliver a lunch to you with all the trimmings off course!

Please also in amongst our own homely celebrations give thought to those on their own and give them a call to Wish them a Merry Christmas.

Hoping to resume normal service from 3rd January BUT watch this space!

May the joy of the first Christmas fill you anew as we celebrate God’s Son Emmanuel.

Christmas Blessings to you all.

Rev Sue
